Dath: The Story of a Daring Affectionate Therapy Horse is a full-color children’s book dedicated to all equine therapy horses that partner with children and adults to enrich their lives. The heroine of this heartwarming tale is Dath, a beloved 38-year-old Icelandic horse from northern Kentucky, but Dath is just the representative of all therapy horses.
Anyone who struggles physically, emotionally, socially, or intellectually can identify with Dath. Whether a person is young or old, and whatever challenges a person is facing, overcoming obstacles and facing scary events is everyone’s life journey.
The author of Dath’s extraordinary story, Margaret Engelman, is a retired grade school teacher who taught school for 25 years. She now works as a volunteer for Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program, located in Independence, Kentucky. She has always loved all types of animals, but it was Dath who taught her to appreciate the gift a therapy horse can bring to people’s lives and challenges, and who inspired her to share his story in this delightful and engaging children’s book.
